Tucked along the Northumberland coast, The Beacons is a well-known but often under-appreciated mark for dedicated shore anglers. This rocky outcrop offers deep water access at relatively short casting distances, making it ideal for both bait and lure fishing.
Whether you’re chasing cod during the colder months or trying your luck with feathers and lures in summer for mackerel and pollock, this spot can deliver.
The ground is rough and snaggy, so gear up accordingly — rotten bottoms are recommended if bait fishing. Lure anglers should stay alert: the kelp and ledges below will happily claim your gear if you’re not paying attention.
