About
🎣 Who’s Behind GetHookt?
My name is Lee Richardson, and I’m the founder of GetHookt. I’ve been fishing since I was a kid, and I’ve spent years exploring the UK’s waters, wild spaces, and campsites — often with a rod in hand and a tent on my back.
What started as a personal project to map out the best places to fish and camp soon grew into something bigger: a full platform for outdoor enthusiasts to discover new spots, get honest gear reviews, and share tips that actually work in the field.
🌱 What GetHookt Is About
GetHookt is more than just a blog or a fishing directory — it’s a growing community of anglers, campers, and weekend warriors who love the outdoors as much as we do.
On this site, you’ll find:
- Expert advice on fishing and wild camping in the UK
- Trusted reviews of gear, tackle, rods, shelters, and more
- Listings for campsites, fisheries, and tackle shops across the country
- Unique guides you won’t find elsewhere — written from real experience
✅ Why Trust Us?
- We’re independent — we don’t take payments for positive reviews.
- We only recommend gear we’ve tested or know works in UK conditions.
- We aim to support local businesses and encourage responsible outdoor access.
This isn’t a copy-and-paste site. It’s built from scratch, by hand, with content that’s UK-specific, experience-based, and community-focused.
🤝 Our Trusted Partners
We proudly support and work with UK-based fisheries, tackle shops, and outdoor brands to promote ethical fishing and sustainable access:
- 🎣 Felton Fence Fisheries – Northumberland-based day ticket fishery with carp and coarse angling lakes.
- 🛍 Local Tackle Shops – We help promote independent bait and tackle suppliers across the UK.
- 🏕 Camp-friendly Sites – We spotlight UK campsites that welcome responsible wild camping and angling.
