Rothbury Welcomes New Anglers: A Weekend of Fly-Fishing on the Coquet
The River Coquet in Rothbury came alive this past weekend as over 100 eager participants joined the Northumbrian Anglers Federation and Greys of Alnwick for a fantastic “Come & Try Fly-Fishing” event. The weather held beautifully on Saturday, welcoming first-timers and families to a fun-filled day learning the art of fly fishing.
Whether casting for trout or salmon, curious beginners got hands-on guidance with rods, reels, and techniques in a welcoming riverside setting.
🧵 Fly-Tying, Casting & More
Attendees also enjoyed:
- Fly-tying demonstrations, with intricate examples of both trout and salmon patterns
